Fine Arts Night at A.P.S. was a blast for first graders and their families on Monday night and second graders and their families on Tuesday night! The pictures below show art stations set-up in the lobby for students to create visual art during the event. Student artwork was showcased in the lobby and displayed in the 1st and 2nd grade hallways for parents to view. Second grade art students are drawing and painting roosters in art class. Take a look at a few of the finished works of art in this "Rooster Parade!" Please view the previous entry to see these artists at work on their roosters. Second graders are busy in the art studio mixing colors of paint to complete their rooster paintings. They have studied primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, neutral colors, how to mix intermediate colors, and create tints and shades of colors. Take a look below to see these artists at work. First grade art students have been learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Students viewed many of his works and in particular his Sunflowers. Vases containing sunflowers were set-up in the classroom for students to observe as they began to paint their own still life arrangement of these bright "sunny" flowers. |
