Students really like using OSMO! Photos show students using OSMO Words, Tangram, and Masterpiece in art class. Students are shown using the OSMO to spell out words related to artist Claude Monet's Japanese Footbridge painting. Two pictures show students working to make an animal using the Tangram pieces and another photo shares a drawing done on Masterpiece. First grade students enjoy painting these lovely silk flowers in a landscape. This idea came from Laura at Paintedpaper. For this lesson, we studied the works of French Impressionist--Claude Monet. We used Google Earth to "take a magic carpet ride" to Monet's house and gardens in Giverny. Students loved watching a video of Monet's garden! The lesson also incorporated some science. Students named the parts of a plant and discussed what plants need to grow. Discovery Education, Pebble Go, and various apps were also utilized in the lesson. |
